Christian education is a partnership between students, faculty and parents that provides an opportunity for the students to learn and experience academics, athletics, and arts through a Biblical worldview.
Tremendous growth and excitement about learning characterize the Elementary years. Students grow in academic skills, social understanding, biblical knowledge, and independence in studies.
Learning occurs in a nurturing, challenging, and affirming Christ-centered environment using instructional methods suited for varied learning styles. Students enjoy a deep and innovative academic program that includes Bible, reading, math, spelling, creative writing, social studies, and science. The Elementary program is enriched with music, art, band, library skills, technology, and physical education. Critical thinking skills that examine academics and life experiences from a Biblical perspective are promoted. All subjects are framed in Biblical truth and challenge students to use their God-given abilities to glorify Him.
Our Elementary teachers are highly qualified and participate regularly in professional development opportunities. They embrace a biblical model for instruction and discipline as they instruct and equip students for future service in God’s kingdom.
During the early adolescent years, our qualified and committed teachers guide students through this changing period in life with challenging academic instruction combined with the development of critical thinking skills. Core subjects include Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Bible. Middle School Students will also take Physical Education and can elect to participate in Band.
SMCS Middle School Students establish rewarding friendships so important to self-esteem during several outings throughout the school year. Making new friends is easy during the retreat held at the beginning of the school year where Biblical lessons will be taught as well as teamwork encouraged.
Middle School Students experience chapel services weekly where they will hear some of the local area’s finest Christian speakers and youth pastors.
Sheets Memorial provides a High School curriculum that prepares our students for college life by enabling them to complete courses required for college admissions. We work with Davidson County Community College permitting students to concurrently earn high school and college credit through the College and Career Promise Program.
Knowing and understanding one’s calling can be done through a growing relationship with Jesus. Psalm 37:4 states that we are to delight ourselves in the Lord, and He will give us the desires of our heart. Having daily conversations with the Lord establishes that relationship and helps us to stay in step with the path He has planned for us. High School is a perfect time to begin shaping and molding oneself in order to prepare for our calling. Many times this begins with setting priorities. There are many choices students must make concerning academics, extra-curricular activities, athletics, faith, and friends. This is a prime time to use those choices to begin to pave a way for the future. As SMCS prepares students for college, there is a high level of expectation for their performance. It is important for students to realize how choices and priorities today affect their tomorrow. The High School faculty and staff pray our students are successfully building themselves to be used by Christ.
